makeup routine

Let’s be honest, so many women wake up early in the morning before work or before school to put some form of makeup on. What if someone told you that I could cut your makeup routine in half? Sounds like a dream, right? Getting those few extra precious minutes in bed and not having to worry about your appearance in the morning. Lucky for you, this is all possible now with eyelash extensions and permanent makeup

What are Lash Extensions?

During the aging process, our natural lashes begin to thin out and shorten, making it harder and harder to create a long lash look. While strip lashes are a popular choice, messing with the glue and trying to place the lash precisely on your lash line is so difficult, and it ends up adding extra time to your makeup routine. The solution: A quality set of eyelash extensions! Lash extensions have recently become more popular because there’s nothing better than being able to just get up in the morning and go!

The lashes used are either made out of silk, mink or a synthetic material, and are then glued by hand onto each individual lash. This gives you a more permanent solution than those stick-on lashes or a bottle of messy mascara. The lashes last about a month before they need to be re-filled and touched up. The type of lash extensions you get will depend on the results you wish to achieve. You can get everything from dramatic long lashes to more natural looking, fuller lashes.

As far as maintenance is concerned, extensions require a bit of commitment. They must be brushed through at the tip in the mornings and after showers. You also have to avoid using oil-based lash products and rubbing your eyes too hard. Lash extensions also have to be cleaned regularly to avoid a build up of bacteria.

What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent makeup has become a popular alternative to getting up every morning and spending all that time doing your makeup. It also makes women feel more confident on their no-makeup days. Permanent lip color is the simplest procedure that will cut some of that morning makeup time out. Lining your lips can be the most difficult part of putting on lipstick, but with this procedure, it cuts that step right out.

Permanent lip color is considered a form of lip tattoo that lasts about a year depending on the color you choose. The more natural the color the more frequent you will have to get it touched up. This procedure is meant to enhance your lip. It should give you the appearance of a fuller lip without the invasive injections that lip filler entails. It’s important to note that this will not make your lips fuller, but rather just appear fuller, as if you were using a lip liner. Depending on the results you desire, your esthetician will be able to customize the procedure to your liking.

The process is simple, but can be quite painful since the lips are one of the most sensitive areas to tattoo. The esthetician will line your lips with the color of your choice and then go in circular motions to fill the lips in. The healing process only takes about 10 days, after which, you will be able to assess if you need any touch ups.

Applying makeup can be a pain, but we do it because it makes us feel more confident and beautiful, so why not make it easier by finishing half the process before we are even out of bed?
