Treatment Areas
Juvéderm XC is specifically designed to smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, particularly those caused by volume loss and repetitive facial movement. It is most commonly used to soften nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth) and marionette lines, helping to restore a smoother, more youthful appearance while maintaining natural facial expressions.
For patients with volume loss in the cheek area, we also offer Juvéderm Voluma XC. This injectable filler is not used to smooth out wrinkles, but to add volume and structure to the cheeks.
How Does Juvéderm Work?
Juvéderm works by delivering hyaluronic acid (HA) directly into targeted facial tissue to restore lost volume and smooth wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring, gel-like substance in the body that attracts and retains moisture, helping skin to stay hydrated, “bouncy” and youthful.
As we age, natural levels of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid decline, leading to volume loss, wrinkles and sagging skin. Juvéderm replenishes hyaluronic acid in areas that have thinned or deflated, subtly plumping the skin and restoring a smoother, more youthful appearance.

Your injectable filler consultation is a personalized visit focused on understanding your facial structure, concerns and aesthetic goals. During this appointment, your provider will evaluate areas of volume loss or wrinkles, discuss the look you want to achieve and determine whether Juvéderm XC or another filler option is best suited for you.

What to Expect During Treatment
Juvéderm injections can be administered quickly and easily with zero need for downtime. Known as a “lunchtime treatment,” Juvéderm sessions can be done in as little as 30 minutes, which means you can get in, get out and get back to your normal activities.
Depending on your goals, you may want to combine your Juvéderm injections with other nonsurgical treatments like BOTOX® Cosmetic.
What to Expect After Juvéderm
There is little to no downtime after Juvéderm injections, so you can plan to resume your normal routine right after your appointment. Mild swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites are common and typically resolve within a few days. For the first 24 hours after treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and excessive sun or heat exposure to minimize swelling and bruising.
Your Juvéderm Results
As any mild swelling resolves, your results continue to refine over 1 to 2 weeks, revealing smoother lines and natural-looking facial enhancement. Depending on the specific Juvéderm product used and the treatment area, results can last up to one year or longer.
