Brow Lift
A brow lift is on of your best options to treat signs of aging in the upper portion of the face, such as the frown lines, forehead furrows, or a heavy/drooping brow.
Brow lifts are most commonly performed for men and women near the ages of 40 to 70, who want to smooth and lift their brow and forehead for a younger, well-toned appearance. Camarillo and Santa Barbara plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Kolder can perform a brow lift to provide you with the natural-looking enhancement you desire.
Your Brow Lift Consultation
During your consultation, Dr. Kolder will take a look at your forehead and brow to determine if this surgery is best for you. You will be able to ask any questions you may have about the brow lift during your private consultation.
Dr. Kolder will go over the various details of the procedure, including surgical steps, benefits, and the brow lift recovery process. Brow lift before and after photos will also be available for you to review.
You may also choose to supplement your brow lift with additional facial plastic surgery procedures such as a facelift or eyelid surgery to address signs of aging near many areas of the face.

The Brow Lift Procedure
Your brow lift will be performed under general anesthesia at our Ambulatory Surgery Center. An incision is made either at the hairline or just within your hair. The forehead skin is then carefully elevated and the eyebrows are repositioned over the supraorbital rim. Special care is taken to not over correct in this region as we do not want to create a surprised or frightened appearance.
Access to the corrugator muscles is achieved as well, and this muscle can be excised. This prevents the crease from forming between your eyes, alleviating the need for future BOTOX® injections.
Excess skin is then removed, followed by the closure of the incision. A temporary wrap is be applied after your surgery to help reduce swelling and fluid accumulations under the skin.
Recovering from a Brow Lift
Bruising and swelling are normal after brow lift surgery. Your bandages and dressings will be removed the day after your surgery, and your stitches 1 week later. At about 10 days, you should be able to conceal most bruising or redness with makeup. Strenuous activity should be avoided for the first 3 weeks, but at no point will you need to be on bed rest.
Results
As your face continues to heal and bruising fades, you will notice the results of your brow lift get better and better. Your incision lines should be fairly out of sight, and you will notice a much smoother, tighter, and younger-looking brow. Patients who have a brow lift are often able to take years off their appearance while still maintaining a natural look thanks to the careful attention to detail of Dr. Kolder.
