HOW DOES WAXING WORK?

Waxing works by removing the hair at the follicle, delaying its regrowth and leaving your skin smooth and hair-free. In many cases, hair regrowth after waxing will be slightly thinner than previously, making each subsequent treatment a little easier and more comfortable.

BEFORE YOUR FACIAL OR BODY WAXING TREATMENT

Before getting your waxing treatment, you’ll have a consultation with one of our Aesthetic Nurses, who will explain the waxing process in greater detail. You’ll be advised to allow your hair to grow to about ¾” prior to your waxing treatment for the easiest removal. Your Aesthetic Nurse will also inform you of your options for waxing, including types of wax.

For those looking for a longer-lasting hair removal solution, laser hair removal can disable hair follicles to prevent regrowth.

YOUR WAXING TREATMENT

During your waxing treatment, your Aesthetic Nurse will carefully apply wax to the hair you wish to have removed. In a swift motion, the wax will then be removed, which will pull your hairs out with it. Your Aesthetic Nurse will quickly apply gentle pressure to the area to alleviate discomfort. While waxing is generally thought of as uncomfortable, we strive to make the procedure as quick and painless as possible.

YOUR RECOVERY & RESULTS

Immediately after your waxing treatment, your skin will appear slightly red and will feel tender to the touch. In some cases, minor swelling or puffiness may develop. These side effects should fade within a few hours to a few days, depending on the treatment area and your skin’s sensitivity.

After your wax, your skin should be hair-free. Most people repeat their wax treatments every 3 to 4 weeks. If you intend to repeat your treatments, it’s important to avoid shaving or tweezing the area between sessions.
