Sculptra®
What Is Sculptra?
Sculptra is an injectable filler designed to correct shallow to deep nasolabial fold contour deficiencies, fine lines and wrinkles in the cheek region, and other facial wrinkles. It can be an excellent way to boost your natural collagen, improve skin quality, and bring out your youthful glow.
How Sculptra Works
Sculptra stimulates your body’s own natural collagen production. Collagen is often called the “building block” of the skin and provides essential support structure for youthful fullness and volume. It also helps the skin retain moisture and remain firm and tight. Sculptra is placed via injection into the subdermal layers of your facial skin tissue.
During Your Treatment
Treatment starts with a consultation, where you will meet with one of our experienced nurse injectors to review your facial anatomy and discuss your ideal look. They will partner with you to formulate a treatment plan including Sculptra, possibly in combination with other injectables such as Juvéderm XC® or BOTOX® Cosmetic.Â
Most of our patients find the treatment to be almost completely painless. Our injections of Sculptra contain lidocaine, a common analgesic that increases the comfort of the injections.
What Should I Expect after Sculptra Treatment?
Following any filler injection, you may experience slight redness, swelling, or bruising at the injected area. These are all normal reactions and should not last for more than a week. We ask that patients wait at least 12 hours after their appointment before applying makeup in the treated area.
Sculptra gradually helps restore your skin’s foundation as new collagen is developed. Results may be seen as early as 1 month after treatment and can last 2 years or more. In fact, in one study, 95% of patients still reported improved skin glow 2 years after their Sculptra treatment.
