Threading, waxing, shaving or laser hair removal? There are so many options now when it comes to hair removal and each of them is different and give you different results. Waxing and laser hair removal are the two procedures that change the texture of your body hair and can change the frequency at which your body hair grows, but both are very different on their own.
Waxing
Waxing is a temporary hair removal procedure. It removes your body hair from the follicle, leaving your skin smooth and delaying hair growth longer than shaving. Many people say that their hair thins out after waxing and grows less frequently. Depending on your hair the esthetician will be able to decide if hard wax or soft wax is better for you. Soft wax is what you would normally think of when you think of waxing. It is applied to the area and then removed with a muslin strip. Hard wax is different. It is applied to the area and then hardens. After it hardens it is removed without the need for a strip.
Waxing can be done almost anywhere on the body including the face, and it has very few side effects. The side effects include redness at the site, rashes or slight inflammation, but in the hands of the right esthetician, you shouldn’t have any problems.
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal can be a permanent hair removal procedure. This process uses a laser to target the hair follicle and destroys it entirely. This procedure must be tailored to you specifically and the area of hair you choose to remove because of multiple factors like skin tone, hair thickness and hair color. The unwanted body hair will fall out in about four weeks after your procedure, but for permanent hair removal, three to five sessions may be necessary with about 12 to 16 weeks between sessions.
Laser hair removal can be done on the legs, face, arms, bikini line and underarms. Like with any procedure there are a few risks. Risks can include swelling, scarring, redness, changes in skin color or blisters.
Hair removal should not be a pain but should be easy. Both laser hair removal and waxing have different positives, but with the right esthetician, you should have no problems at all finding the right solution for your unwanted hair.
