If Father Time has graced you with lines, wrinkles and sagging skin that you’d rather not have, it might be time to consider a facelift to restore a more youthful, energized and alert appearance. But just how much younger could a facelift make you look? Researchers seem to have pinpointed the answer.
Shave 7 Years off Your Look
To determine this figure, a team of plastic surgeons asked 40 medical school students to look at before and after photos of 54 women and 6 men who’d had facial plastic surgery and guess the age of the person in each picture. On average, the “after” photos were estimated to be 7.2 years younger than the “before” photos of the same person.
Of course, this isn’t to say that everyone who has a facelift can expect to look exactly seven years younger, but it can give people a better idea of the results that they could achieve from this procedure.
Keep a Soft, Natural Appearance
While a facelift won’t magically turn a 60-year-old into a 40-year-old, it can help you look like a more refreshed and rejuvenated version of yourself.
Facelifts and other facial plastic surgery procedures aren’t just about looking years younger, although that certainly is a great benefit. People who choose to get facelifts are also looking for very smooth, natural-looking results that don’t appear fake or “done.” When you work with board-certified plastic surgeon who has ample experience performing facelifts, these are exactly the kinds of results you can look forward to.
